A little help along the way
Orbis support.
Find your way around, understand your connections, or get in touch with a question.
Your first day with Orbis
- Open Me and connect the sources you want to include. Each permission is optional.
- Return to Days and choose a date to explore its photos, daily dial, and available records.
- Open Notes, or long-press a calendar date, to add a short thought and a mood.
Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Orbis does not require registration or sign-in. Your daily records are assembled on your device, and your notes are stored locally.
Why is a day empty or missing some details?
A story depends on the records available for that date and the access you have granted. Check the relevant connection in Me and the app's permissions in system Settings. Missing data is not replaced with invented activity or sample records.
Why are some photos unavailable?
Orbis can only read photos you have allowed it to access. With limited photo access, only your selected photos are included. The app does not download originals from iCloud; open an unavailable item in Apple Photos and download it to your device before trying again.
Why does Health say “Requested”?
Apple does not tell apps whether permission to read health data was granted. Orbis therefore shows “Requested” after the authorization flow rather than claiming that access is confirmed. Review Orbis's permissions in Apple Health and check that relevant records exist for the selected day. Orbis does not write or modify health data.
Can Orbis show my complete location history?
No. It can use locations attached to your photos, existing workout routes, and visits delivered by iOS after you enable location access. It cannot recover visits that were never recorded, and it does not continuously run GPS. A map near your saved home is a background, not evidence that you visited it that day.
Why are music or activity moments incomplete?
Music moments show each library song's most recent recorded play, not every time you listened. Motion history is limited by the records iOS makes available, generally up to the past seven days when first read. Missing or uncertain activity is not filled in.
Does Orbis need an internet connection?
Local notes and available on-device records do not require an Orbis account or server. Map backgrounds, place searches, and new sunrise or sunset requests need Apple services and a network connection. Previously cached information may remain available offline.
Are my notes backed up or synced?
Orbis does not provide its own cloud backup or cross-device sync. Its notes, visit records, saved home location, and local caches are excluded from system cloud backups. Deleting the app can permanently remove these local records. We do not hold a server copy that can restore them.
How do I change permissions or remove local data?
Adjust access in system Settings or Apple Health. Removing permission stops future authorized access, but Apple Health does not directly notify the app whether read access has been revoked. You can remove your saved home from the home-location screen. To remove all app-local records, choose Delete App in system Settings; Offload App keeps app data. This does not delete original records in Photos, Calendar, or Health.
Which devices and languages are supported?
Orbis supports iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. The interface is available in English and Simplified Chinese and follows your system or per-app language setting. Feature availability depends on device capabilities, permissions, and existing data.
